Chance is extremely well balanced, has an excellent tail set and carriage; great movement with strong front and rear reach and drive; excellent front; a deep chest and good bone. He has always been in excellent health. The wonderful thing about Chance is that he is so willing to perform with anyone on lead. I could not ask for better temperament, health and versatility in a dog! Additionally, Chance is a gentleman and not a digger; nor recreational barker. He remains in excellent health and body at 12 years of age. Chance is one heck of a wonderful "puppy".

Hunting:

1990 - Earned First leg of JH at 7 months
1991 - Finished JH at 19 months
???? - Finished SH in two weeks with little training
1997 - Finished MH title with Gerald on December 13

He is a natural hunter, backer and retriever. His stylish point and honor is quite striking. He continues to be a hunting companion at age 13.

Field:

1994 - First field trial with Gerald in the Spring earning a fourth placement in Open Gun Dog out of 17 starters

He has a good run; can really open up; he uses the wind and hits the objectives and tree lines well; lots of stamina.

Agility:

Chance trained in agility through one beginner’s course 3 years prior to finishing his NA in three trials with just a few refresher practices. Last leg – First Place.

Obedience:

Several High in Trials at matches prior to finishing CD in three trials while a special in conformation. After 9 years absence from obedience, he earned his 1st leg in CDX, July at Houston KC with 4th place and Highest Scoring Vizsla 2001 TGCVC Specialty at Houston KC. Earned 2nd leg at Galveston KC, July 2001. Both during the Astrohall World Series of Dogs Shows. Finished CDX in Sept 15, 2001 his 4th show at Victoria Obedience trial.

Lineage facts:

Chance is a full brother, from repeat breeding, to 1990 VCA National BOB, BISS Ch Oakleaf’s Dandy Dalton, SH ROM HOF and sister from the same litter, 1991 VCA National Field Champion, DC AFC NFCH Triad’s XXIV Karat Oakleaf CD VC ROM and ½ brother to Quintuple Champion Legacy’s DeChartay MH MAJ VC. Chance, Dalton , half-brother Kiskadee’s El Casador and Danny (sire), are featured, with picture, in Gay Gottlieb’s book, The Complete Vizsla, after winning “family style” at the VCA 1990 Nationals. Chance has been featured in Dog Days magazine, a local publication, several times.

Chance has reproduced himself well; bringing to the litters his moderate conformation; good fronts, deep chests, excellent movement, and wonderful temperament. All have shown potential for the field and willingness to please. Many have exhibited his natural field talent and intelligence. His puppies are busy ones and very intelligent. They will definitely need a job. Most will start with a lighter coat color, but will darken to a golden rust or darker according to its dam. Some eyes have taken a bit longer to darken, but will and are a nice dark amber to brown. Extremely small roan spot only on a couple of pups. Only one had more – but not disqualifying.

Summary of Get accomplishments through June 2003

Chance has been bred 10 times, the 2nd litter produced only one offspring. He was not bred until 6 years of age so many of his puppies have yet met their potential. All titles but one NAVAHDA are from first 7 litters. Many are within points of Championship, or legs towards Master Hunter, and other hunting, obedience and MACH agility and Canadian titles.
